Office of International Cooperation and Exchange

The Office of International Cooperation and Exchange is the official administrative department of Soochow University that implements Soochow University's international policies and coordinates on its international exchange and cooperation. The office is committed to facilitating the cooperation and exchange between Soochow University and its overseas partners on education and research. With our support and collaborative efforts from all faculties and offices, Soochow University will grow its global network and be recognized internationally for excellence in education and research.

The International office has the following duties:

1.  Drafting out development plan for the international cooperation and exchange of the university.

2.  Collecting and organizing information on international educational exchange.

3.  Providing consulting services to the University leadership.

4.  Coordinates on all international affairs and events of the university.

5.  Providing consulting services to faculty and staff in international cooperation on education and research.

6.  Planning, coordinating and implementing the receptions of important foreign guests.

7.  Providing visa services to university students, faculty and staff who go abroad on business.

8.  Taking charge of the recruitment and management of international experts, scholars and instructors.

9.  Organizing and implementing student international exchange programs.

10.Taking charge of the admission and enrollment of international students.

11.Providing visa and passport services to those international students.

12.Liaising, examining and filing for approvals for Sino-foreign cooperative education programs.

13.Organizing international conferences and providing support.

14.Developing, organizing and implementing cooperative exchange programs between universities worldwide.


The International Office has the following divisions:

Division of General Administration; Division of Student Exchange; Division of International Relations and Programs Management; Division of International Students Affairs; The Office of Hong Kong, Macro and Taiwan Affairs and the Exit-Entry Service Center are also affiliated with the International Office.

 

Our Divisions

Division of General Administration

1.  Organizing related information on international exchange and providing consulting services to the university leadership for decision making.

2.  Liaising with all the divisions of the office and other faculties of the university.

3.  Being responsible for sending, receiving documents and publishing and updating online and paper information.

4.  Developing and maintaining the office official website.

5.  Drafting work plans, work summary of the office and related paperwork.

6.  Being responsible for the collection and organization of the statistics and information on foreign affairs.

7.  Organizing and coordinating on the receptions of foreign guests; purchasing and managing welcome gifts.

8.  Being responsible for the human resources and finance of the office.

9.  Assisting the office leadership with other related duties.

 

Division of International Students Affairs

1.  Being responsible for the admission and management of international students.

2.  Being responsible for the organization and implementation of HSK related duties.

3.  Being responsible for the collection and organization of the profiles of international students.

4.  Negotiating and implementing all kinds of short-term research programs.

 

Division of Student Exchange

1.  Organizing and implementing student exchange programs based on cooperation agreements.

2.  Helping to solve any problems that students, faculties and staff encounter during their international exchange period.

3.  Formulating rules and regulations of the international exchange of student; achieving standardized management of student exchange programs.

4.  Developing new student exchange programs to increase the number of options for students to go abroad.

5.  Being responsible for the development, organization and implementation of short-term studying abroad programs of student.

6.  Assisting in the liaison, management and enrollment of the international students in student exchange programs.

 

Division of International Relations and Programs Management

1.  Being responsible for the management of Sino-foreign Cooperative Education programs.

2.  Being responsible for management of Confucius Institute.

3.  Being responsible for the management of "China-African Universities 20+20 Cooperation Plan".

4.  Being responsible for the management of Daejin University China Campus (DUCC).

5.  Being responsible for the management of overseas education programs (Soochow University in Laos).


Exit-Entry Service Center

1.  Providing visa and passport services to the faculty and staff who go abroad on business.

2.  Being responsible for the recruitment and management of international experts, scholars and instructors.

3.  Declaring international academic conferences and coordinates on these events.

4.  Reporting and applying for financial aid of short-term research projects for foreign education experts.

  

The Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs

The Office of Hong Kong, Macro and Taiwan Affairs takes charge of the cooperation and exchangewith regions including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
