Sino-German Workshop on Functionalization of Wide-Bandgap Semiconductor Materials for Chemical and Biochemical Sensing Held at Soochow University

Jointly held by Institute of Functional Nano & Soft Materials, Soochow University [FUNSOM], and Fraunhofer Institut f¨¹r Angewandte Festk?rperphysik (IAF), Sino-German Workshop on Functionalization of Wide-Bandgap Semiconductor Materials for Chemical and Biochemical Sensing took place at Soochow University on 11-15 May, 2010. The workshop was co-sponsored by Academician Li Shutang and Professor Christoph E. Nebel, and funded by Sino-German Science Center of NSFC. Nearly 30 experts coming form Germany, America and China participated in the workshop, and Mr. Chen Lesheng, deputy director of Sino-German Science Center, addressed the opening reception of the conference.

Throughout the workshop, the 29 high-level presentations created a comfortable atmosphere of academic exchange, laying a solid foundation for the friendly cooperation between China and Germany in this field.
