Lifeng Chi

Lifeng Chi received her B.S. degree in physics and M.S. degree in physical chemistry from Jilin University, China. She earned her Ph.D degree in 1989 in Go?ttingen, Germany, working on electron/energy transfer in thin organic films. She worked at the University of Mainz and BASF from 1993-1994 as postdoc. And then she joined in the University of Mu?nster and received a Lise Meitner scholarship in 1997. In 2000, she finished her habilitation in physics in the area of nano-structuring through self-organization. She became a professor in physics at the University of Mu?nster in 2004 and was appointed as Chair Professor at Soochow University, China, in 2012. Here research is focus on the On-Surface Chemistry, Self-Assembly, Structured Surfaces and Thin Films, Scanning Tunneling Microscopy and Atomic Force Microscopy.

Prof. Chi has published more than 300 peer reviewed papers which have been cited for more than 7,300 times (without self-citation) including papers in Nature, Science, J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem, Acc. Chem. Rev., Phys. Rev. Lett. etc.. She was selected for NSFC Outstanding Oversea-Chinese Young Scientist (1999), 1000 Talents Scheme (2011), "Lisa Meitner" Program (Germany, 1997), ACS Nano Lectureship (2016) and 2017 IUPAC distinguished Women in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
