Jia-Wei Wu


Prof. Jia-Wei Wu graduated from the Department for Intensive Instruction (KuangYaming Honors School) of Nanjing University, in 1994. She received her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 1999. After her post-doctoral research in Princeton University from 1999 to 2003, she became a professor in the School of Life Sciences, Tsinghua University in 2003. In 2015, Prof. Wu joined the Medical College, Soochow University.


Prof. Wu's research interest focusses on the structures and functions of key proteins in glucose and lipid metabolism. She is also interested in the regulatory mechanisms of kinases and phosphatases in signaling pathways. She has published more than 80 peer reviewed articles, including more than 30 corresponding or co-corresponding papers in Nature, Nat StructMolBiol, Nat Commun, Cell Res, Proc Natl AcadSci, and J Am Chem Soc. Her research has been supported by the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund Project, the National Basic Research Program of China, the National Key R&D Program of China and the National Natural Science Foundation. Prof. Wu was awarded the honors of "China young woman scientist award" in 2011, "Chang Jiang Distinguished Professor" by the Ministry of Education in 2012, and "The 6th C.C.Tan (Jia-Zhen Tan) Life Science Award" in 2013.
