Models from Soochow Show Up in Bangkok

At the night of December 6th, a fashion show featuring traditional costumes of Jiangsu Province was successfully held in Bangkok of Thailand as promotion of China's "One Belt, One Road" initiative. The event was a cooperation of the provincial department of culture, China Cultural Center in Bangkok, School of Arts of Soochow University, and Jiangsu Performing Art Group. Honorable guests presented at the show include Mr.Wiboon Khusakul, formal Thai Ambassador to China and his wife; Chen Jiang, Cultural Counselor of China Embassy in Thailand, and Mrs. Chu Qinglin, the wife of Mr. Ning Fukui, Chinese Ambassador to Thailand. Held for two consecutive sessions at China Cultural Center in Bangkok, the show was a great success.

Over 20 students and teachers from the School of Arts of Soochow prepared for nearly a month for the show. Different from ordinary runway shows, the fashion show featuring traditional costumes of Jiangsu Province has unique requirements to styles, romantic charm and expressions. Therefore, some dancing movements were added into the presentation of the show toincisively manifest the local styles where the clothes were produced.
