Recently the "4th Greater China Region Illustration Award" ceremony sponsored by Hong Kong Society of Illustrators and organized by Hong Kong Productivity Council was successfully closed in the Kowloon Tong Innovation Center in Hong Kong. The One Person's 24 Solar Terms by art lecturer Wu Yingying from the Department of Fine Arts, School of Arts of Soochow University and the Fear by year-2012 student Zu Meng stood out and won the Best Illustration Award of Greater China Region and Best Illustration Award of Greater China Region for Students.
The "4th Greater China Region Illustration Award" aims to honor the most outstanding and best quality illustrators in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan across the strait. By holding all kinds of competitions, learning from each other and continuously improving the illustration skill, we strive to help the illustration art in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau to enter the international stage. The judge panel for all three rounds of competitions is consisted of famous illustrators and artists to ensure fairness of the competition. After the competition, seven awards and honors have been given, including "The Best Advertisement in Greater China Region", "Marketing Illustration Award", "The Best Published Illustration of Greater China Region", "The Best Illustration for Animations and New Media", "The Best Illustration Brand of Greater China Region", "The Most Creative Illustration of Greater China Region", "The Best Illustration Award of Greater China Region for Students", and "The Best Illustration at Judge's Choice".
The awards won by both lecturer and students of the School of Arts fully manifests the mutual growth of teaching and learning in the school. It will not only increase the international influence of the School and the entire university, but also will motivate the learning and research among all teaching staff and students in the school.
