Speaker Biography:

Dr. Lei obtained her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Fudan University Shanghai Medical College (1999) and did her post-doctoral study with Dr. Hong Wu at UCLA. She is currently Full Professor and Senior Scientist, Fudan University Cancer Center and Institutes of Biomedical College. Dr. Lei’s research focuses on cancer metabolism. Dr. Lei’s group has approached these questions by exploring the sensing and utilization of different nutrients by cancer cells, identifying key enzymes implicated in oncogenic alterations of metabolism, and investigating the functional interaction of metabolism with tumour microenviroment, etc., hoping to understand the mechanism underlying metabolic alterations during cancer initiation and progression.
