Abstract:  A comprehensive introduction to general principles of modeling and analysis of linear and nonlinear evolutions in time and space of various complex systems is presented. Specifically, importance of the concept of characteristic scales, dimensional analysis, self-similar evolution and Fano’s resonances are discussed based upon detailed study of simple, tractable problems. The talk is addressed to undergraduate- and graduate-level students in Natural Sciences, Technologies and Applied Mathematics.
