On November 2nd, 2019 "Famous City, Famous University" Campus Marathon was kicked off at Soochow University’ Tiancizhuang Campus. This is the 7th year that the event has been held consecutively.
As the year of 2020 will be the 120th anniversary of the founding of Soochow University, this year, Taiwan Soochow University came all the way from Taipei to join this year’s marathon at Tiancizhuang as well.
Vice President Liu Biao of Soochow University addressed the opening ceremony and highlighted the significance of the campus marathon while Vice President Dong Baocheng from Taiwan Soochow University also expressed his wish for students to hold the marathon spirit in their life and studies. Many departmental leaders from both universities also presented at the ceremony.
This year, altogether 3177 runners joined the campus marathon and some of them have attended the event for several times.
