On June 8, Dr.Samuel Stanley, President of America's Stony Brook University, and Dr. Liu Jun, Vice-president of Stony Brook University, visited our university. Jiang Xinghong, Vice-president of Soochow University met with President Samuel Stanley and his entourages in Honglou Conference Center.  

"As a comprehensive university mainly developed in the national "Project 211", Soochow University has made great progress in such aspects as talent team construction, discipline construction, teaching quality and scientific research level in recent years, and our comprehensive ranking is continuously rising. All these benefit from our university's international strategy of 'Going out and bringing in'.We hope to have in-depth cooperation with Stony Brook University in multiple aspects, including student exchange, teacher exchange, administrative staff training and scientific research. We hope President Stanley's visit can strengthen our mutual understanding and promote exchanges and cooperation between the two universities. We also hope more substantial cooperative projects can bear fruit through concerted effort of our both parties," Vice-president Jiang Xinghong said.

President Stanley thought highly of the development and progress our university has made in the recent years. "Stony Brook University, established by the State Government of New York, has become a comprehensive university with high reputation through 60 years of development and ranks top among American public universities. We expect to have substantial cooperation and exchanges with Soochow University in the future, and I firmly believe cooperation between the two universities can play an active role in improving the quality of school running of both parties," he said.

At last, Vice-president Jiang Xinghong and President Stanley signed the framework agreement on the cooperation between the two unveristies.
