The Science, Technology and Education Management Association of Affiliated Hospitals Established

With the purposes of building an exchange platform for the communication of science, technology, education and research works in the affiliated hospitals of Soochow University and promoting the collaborative development of these areas in different affiliated hospitals, the meeting for theestablishment of Science, Technology and Education Management Association of Affiliated Hospitals was held at Room 217 of the Laura Haygood Memorial on the afternoon of May 22nd. Over 70 representatives participated in the meeting, including Vice President Chen Weichang, related leaders from the Department of Human Resources, the Graduate School, the Department of Science and Technology Research, and the Medical College, the executive presidents for the science and technology affairs and the directors of the department of science and technology in 15 affiliated hospitals. The establishment meeting was held by Xu Xiaole, the director of the Department of Hospital Administration.    

 


 

At the beginning of the meeting, Director Xu introduced the preparation progresses and major tasks for the establishment of the Science, Technology and Education Management Association of Affiliated Hospitals the specialized committee of the association and its personnel composition. Under the management association, there are three branches, namely, the branch of clinical education, the branch of science and technology and the branch of graduate students. Subordinate to the Department of Hospital Administration, the management association aims to coordinate and promote the management of the application researches on clinical technologies in our affiliated hospitals, the management of undergraduate clinical education, the management of graduate students, and the management of the affairs related to the standardized trainings for resident doctors, continuing medical education, academic exchanges, the supports to scientific researches, and relevant faculty trainings. After Xu’s introduction, Vice President Chen conferred the letter of appointment to the directors and deputy directors of the three branches aforementioned.   

 


 

On behalf of the above three branches, Ms. Huang Jie from the children’s hospital, Mr. Zhu Xuesong from the first affiliated hospital and Mr. Zhang Liyuan from the second affiliated hospital addressed at the meeting. They expressed that the establishment of the management association is of great significance for the collaborative development of the science, technology, education and research affairs in all the affiliated hospitals. In order to live up to the expectations of the university, they would follow the planning and coordination of the Department of Hospital Administration and devote themselves into the works of their branches by promoting communications, expanding thinking modes, reaching consensus and facilitating cooperation.

  

In addition, the delegates from affiliated Changshu hospital and the third affiliated hospital also shared their opinions at the meeting. They claimed that as the affiliated hospitals of Soochow University, they shall attach enough importance to education tasks. Hence, they would further improve their teaching qualities and the construction of the faculty team, strengthen the integration of different disciplines, and promote the communication and cooperation among young researchers and the quantities and qualities of the scientific research programs submitted to related authorities. Meanwhile, they also hoped that the university would bestow more supports to the areas like scientific researches and the recruitment of graduate students.

 

Afterwards, major leaders from the Medical College,the Department of Science and Technology Research, the Graduate School and the Department of Human Resources also addressed respectively at the meeting.

 


In his conclusion speech, Vice President Chen Weichang emphasized the significance and major tasks for the establishment of the Science, Technology and Education Management Association of Affiliated Hospitals. With great expectations, Chen hoped that by taking advantage of this opportunity, all the affiliated hospitals could well implement the science, technology and education works with the guidance of the Department of Hospital Administration.
