On January 22th, Ministry of Education released results of the 2018 National –level Quality Courses accreditation. 10 courses proposed by Soochow University were accredited, ranking the1^stamong universities in Jiangsu province and the 11^thin among universities nationwide. In this round of National-level Quality Courses accreditation, a total of 2137 courses were proposedby 638 universities in China, among which 801 courses were finally accredited, including 690 courses for undergraduate programs and 111 courses for vocational education programs.

The promotion of construction and application of online open courses is a key measure to realizethe leap-forward development of China’s higher education quality, especially talent training quality. As a new teaching mode, online courses breaks the time-space boundary of traditional education, overthrows “walls” of universities, and realizes the open sharing of first class educational resources. Meanwhile, it promotes the integration of information technology with teaching and learning practices as well as the reform of higher education in aspects such as pedagogical concepts, methods and modes, and boosts innovation of teaching and learning.
