China Scholarship Council Training Program Held at Soochow University

From November 26 to 27, the training program of the 2020 China Scholarship Council was held in Suzhou. This training was sponsored by the China Scholarship Council and held by Soochow University. 619 representatives from 334 units including the Central Government and other relevant ministries and major institutions of higher learning nationwide attended the event.

 

On the morning of the 26th, the all-attendee training session was held and hosted by Zhang Ning, Deputy Secretary-General of the CSC. Jiang Yong, Secretary of CPC Soochow Committee, delivered a speech on behalf of Soochow University. Li Hai, Deputy Director of the International Department of the Ministry of Education, attended the event and gave presentation. Representatives from six universities including Peking University and Tsinghua University, made speeches to exchange their experience as well.

 

 

  

Jiang Yong expressed his sincere gratitude to all units for their strong support for Soochow's running. He introduced status quo of Soochow University to the visitors, especially focusing on Soochow's outstanding achievements in internationalization in recent years. He said that Soochow will continue to promote the development strategy of "Leading the Domestic First-class with International Reputation", on the one hand, accelerating the gathering of overseas high-level talents, on the other hand, making overall planning and multi-party cooperation, and constantly exploring new ideas and new measures for the work of studying abroad in the new era and new situation.

 

 


In his speech, Li Hai pointed out that the work of Government Funded Overseas Study Programs should adhere to its original mission, actively innovate the talent training model, and form a talent platform in several key areas.

 


 

In the report, Sheng Jianxue pointed out the focus of studying abroad is to "grasp management, service, and efficiency." The CSC will continue to focus on the four aspects of "aligning national strategic needs, highlighting key and key areas, focusing on the needs of industry sectors, and supporting the training of local talents".

 

 


During the afternoon of the 26th and the 27th, five training sessions were offered on various topics.

  

Soochow University has attached great importance to related work since joining the Government Founded Study Abroad Program, and has issued a series of supporting policies. All departments have cooperated extensively for the program. In the past three years, more than 400 teachers and students of Soochow have obtained the fund sponsored by CSC.
