Lan Shaomin, Member of the CPC Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Province and Secretary of the CPC Suzhou Committee, visited the Industrialization Base FUNSOM

On the morning of June 5, Lan Shaomin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangsu Province and Secretary of the CPC Suzhou Committee, visited the Industrialization Base of the Institute of Functional Nano and Soft Materials-Institute of Organic Optoelectronics of Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute, with the accompany of leaders of the Suzhou Municipal Party Committee and Secretary General Yu Xingnan. Academician Li Shutang, Executive Director Liao Liangsheng, Director of Testing Center Tang Jianxin and others received the visitors.


Secretary Lan Shaomin visited the exhibition hall, testing center and clean room workshop of the institute. Academician Li Shutang and Director Liao Liangsheng reported to Lan on the industrial layout of the institute. Academician Li and Director Liao also introduced a series of advanced testing equipment of semiconductor optoelectronic industry.


During his visit, Secretary Lan highly praised the overall layout and related work of the Organic Optoelectronic Technology Research Institute of JITRI, and encouraged the research team to continue to work in the organic optoelectronic industry. The two sides also exchanged views on participation and promotion of the construction of Gusu Laboratory.



The Institute of Organic Optoelectronics was jointly established by JITRI (Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute), the Wujiang Government of Suzhou and Prof. Shuit-Tong Lee and his team in July 2016. The Institute is located in Foho, historical and picturesque district of Wujiang. Foho is bounded by Jiangsu Province, Zhejiang Province and Shanghai, and is only 45 minutes away from Shanghai Hongqiao Airport.

The Institute has over 30,000 m2 of laboratory and office space. In additional to the financial support from the JITRI, the Wujiang Government hasalso provided a seed funding of 300 million RMB for the establishment of the Institute, about half of which are for the acquisition of state-of-the-art R&D equipment and the half for the attracting high quality projects, scholars and talents.

The institute currently has a number of world-renowned experts in organic optoelectronics as its core members, who are mostly scientists from the Academy of Sciences or Engineering in China or overseas. It aims to become a world-class research and development center in the area of organic optoelectronics.
