Recently, Professor Liu Zhuang from Functional Nano & Soft Materials published the review paper with the title of Biomaterials tools to modulate the tumour microenvironment in immunotherapy in the journal of Nature Reviews Bioengineering. In this Review, the author introduced hallmarks of the TME and discussed biomaterials and nanomedicine technologies that could regulate the TME of solid tumours to improve the efficacy of different types of immunotherapy. The author outlined the remaining challenges in the clinical translation of TME-modulating biomaterials tools and concluded by envisioning future milestones in this field.
