Chinese Academy of Engineering Academicians Li Yanrong and Zhou Ji Give Lectures at Dongwu Lecture Hall

On September 5th, Li Yanrong, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Party Secretary of Northwestern Polytechnical University, and Zhou Ji, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Professor at Tsinghua University, were invited to give lectures at Soochow University's Dongwu Lecture Hall. The esteemed scholars delivered an exceptional academic feast for faculty and students at the Honglou Conference Center of Tiancizhuang Campus. Ying Hanjie, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of Soochow University, and Shen Mingrong, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President, attended the event. Heads of relevant colleges and departments, along with representatives of faculty and students, were also present. Shen Mingrong presided over the proceedings.

Academician Zhou Ji began his presentation, titled "The Fusion of Metamaterials and Conventional Materials," by referencing Richard Feynman's "atomic hypothesis," setting the stage for an engaging discourse.

Academician Li Yanrong delivered a thought-provoking lecture on "Reflections on Current Scientific and Technological Innovation in China." He provided a profound analysis of the current landscape of scientific and technological innovation, emphasizing its pivotal role in shaping the destiny of the nation and its people.

In his closing remarks, President Ying Hanjie highly commended the insightful presentations of both academicians.
