On May 7, former UN Deputy Secretary-General, Geneva Centre for Security Policy Fellow, and Co-Chair of the Advisory Committee of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Leadership Development Center, Mr. Fabrizio Hochschild-Drummond and his delegation visited our university. Our university's Vice President Wu Jiawei met with the delegation at the Red Building Conference Center, where both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on cultivating talent for international organizations.

Wu Jiawei welcomed Hochschild's visit and highly praised his global vision and leadership as a senior diplomat and scholar. She pointed out that our university is committed to cultivating interdisciplinary talents with international competence and hopes that with Hochschild's guidance and assistance, the university can promote student and faculty participation in practical projects with the United Nations and other international organizations, offer relevant courses and lectures, and support the cultivation of globalized talent.

Hochschild expressed gratitude for the warm reception at our university and recalled his experience of being appointed as a visiting professor at the International Academy of Red Cross & Red Crescent in 2023. He stated that Soochow University's international education characteristics are impressive, and he looks forward to further supporting the university's exploration in cultivating talent for international organizations through academic exchanges, resource sharing, and other methods, contributing to China's efforts in developing talent for international organizations.
