The Affiliated Infectious Diseases Hospital(The Fifth People's Hospital of Suzhou)



Founded in 1959, the Fifth People's Hospital of Suzhou is a tertiary hospital with comprehension of clinical treatment, medical teaching and scientific research as well as  specialty in infectious diseases. It is also the Affiliated Infectious Diseases Hospital of Soochow University and was entitled as the Occupational Diseases Hospital of Suzhou 2012. The hospital is the teaching hospital of Soochow University and Nanjing Medical University. Besides, it offers master's degree program of infectious diseases for students from Xuzhou Medical University as well as master's degree and doctoral degree programs for students majoring in infectious diseases from Soochow University. At the same time, the hospital is the municipal emergency medical rescue base for infectious diseases and poisoning events. The hospital is located in No.1, Xier Road, Gusu District, Suzhou. The constructional area of the hospital is 24,000 square meters, with a greenery coverage of over 30%. With more than 530 employees working in the hospital, the institute offers 455 sickbeds and receives more than 250, 000 outpatients and 8, 000 inpatients each year. The patients treated here are mainly the ones with liver diseases, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, skin disease, sexually transmitted diseases and occupational diseases.
