Lixiang Eye Hospital Affiliated to Soochow University is located in Suzhou, a culturally famous city in the Yangtze River Delta also well-known as the "heaven on earth". The hospital is the sole non-profit Level Three specialized eye hospital and key eye clinic in Suzhou, boasting nationwide top level ophthalmology talents, world-class apparatus and equipment as well as complete and cozy hospital environment. The building area as planned for the first phase of construction is 13000 square meters, accommodating over 300 employees, among whom, there are nearly 180 medical care personnel and more than 30 doctors with titles of senior professional post. Now the hospital has 100 beds as planned for the first phase of construction, comprising such eight specialist departments as cataract, glaucoma, ocular trauma and the fundus disease, strabismus and pediatric eye disease, ocular surface and corneal disease, ocular plastic and orbital disease, excimer laser, eye disease prevention and health care, as well as medical optometry center and clinical treatment examination department, in addition to such institutions as Suzhou Red Cross Lixiang Eye Bank, Animal Lab and Eye Institute.

With the principle of people oriented and scientific development, based on the top standard in eye industry, the hospital is trying to develop itself into an institution-styled specialized hospital combining various functions including medical treatment, teaching, research, prevention of blindness, public benefits.
