Institute of Artificial Organs Selected as a 2018 Sino-British Cooperation and Exchange Program

The Committee of Chinese National Natural Science Foundation announced the list of funding for 2018 Sino-British Cooperation and Exchange Program. The scientific research team led by Professor Xu Bojun from the Institute of Artificial Organs of Soochow University is on the list and has obtained an opportunity to cooperate with the Bioengineering Institute of Brunel University in the following two years.

  

Sino-British Cooperation and Exchange Program is a scientific research cooperation program jointly provided by the Committee of Chinese National Natural Science Foundation and the British Royal Society. The program, based on the frontiers of international science, has made effective use of international scientific and technological resources and adhered to the principles of equal cooperation, mutual benefits and products sharing so as to promote cooperative research and academic exchanges between China and British. The execution limit of each program is two years and both parties would jointly fund the annual international travel expenses, accommodation and board fees and inter-city transportation fares for the exchange visits between Chinese and British researchers.

  

The project jointly submitted by the Institute of Artificial Organs of Soochow University and the Bioengineering Research Institute of Brunel University is called "Research and Development of Multi-dimensional mixed-type extracorporeal circulation simulation experiment system". Through the implementation of this exchange program, it will deepen the comprehension of the clinical puzzle-Left heart assist in the cause of right heart failure.
