An introduction to Professor Zhu Chen from the Department of Materials and Chemical Engineering published in "Author Profile" of Applied Chemistry

Professor Zhu Chen from the Department of Materials and Chemical Engineering of Soochow engaged in the research field as " The remote migration strategy realizes the bifunctionalization of nonactivated olefins”, and it was selected in the report of "Research Frontiers 2019" and the "Research Frontier Heat Index 2019". After that, his research results have received extensive international attention and recognition again.

Author Profile, as the column of top journal of chemistry all over the world, has conducted an exclusive interview with Professor Zhu Chen (Angew.chem.int. Ed. 2020, DOI: 10.1002/ Anie.202010114). This character column is an exclusive interview with famous scholars who have published more than ten articles in this journal in the past ten years. It is also an important academic honor for scholars.

Recently, Professor Zhu Chen once again accepted the invitation of the top international chemistry review journal Acc. Chem. Res. to write a review for the chemistry of "distal functional group migration" (Acc. Chem. Res. 2020, 53, 1620).

Since joining the Faculty of Materials and Chemical Engineering of Soochow at the end of 2013, Professor Zhu Chen has published more than 60 academic papers as the corresponding author, including Acc. Chem. Res., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. and Nat. Commun. and other top chemical journals more than 10 papers. He was invited to report more than 20 times at important international and domestic academic conferences. Professor Zhu was selected as Jiangsu Distinguished Professor in 2014 and won the National Outstanding Youth Fund in 2017, and in the same year he also won the Thieme Chemistry Journals Award. Then he won the second prize of Jiangsu Education Teaching and Research Achievement Award in 2018. Professor Zhu was invited to be the editorial board member of Science in China: Chemistry, Acta Chemistry, Chemical Journal of Colleges and Universities and so on.

Professor Zhu Chen has made pioneering researches on Organic Chemistry and free radical migration, which has opened up new ideas for the research of free radical chemistry. He also has received extensive attention and recognition from his peers at home and abroad, and his achievements have been highlighted by media such as Chemistry Views, Wiley Advanced Science News, and Organic Chemistry Portal.
