The "3 +1 +1" and "3 +1 +1.5" Joint Training Project





1 Introduction to the project:


This is a student cooperative training project between Soochow University and Laurentian University.
"3 +1 +1" refers to a project that enables students in Soochow University, that are majoring in CGA (Certified General Accountants), to apply for the Bachelor of Commence program or BBA program in Laurentian University for their fourth year’s study after they have finished their first three years at Soochow University and met the other requirements for the project. After taking 30 credits, they may enter the Laurentian University MBA program, and can get an MBA from Laurentian University after completing their studies in the next one year. Meanwhile, students can get the diploma from Soochow University after the four years’ study and can also get a bachelor’s degree from Soochow University if they meet the requirements.
"3 +1 +1.5" refers to the project that non-CGA major students in Soochow University may apply to enter Laurentian University for their fourth year’s study after they have finished their first three years at Soochow University and met the other requirements of the project. After taking 30 credits, they may enter the Laurentian University MBA program, and can get an MBA from Laurentian University after completing their studies in the next one and a half years. Meanwhile, students can get the diploma in Soochow University after the four years’ study and can also get bachelor degree in Soochow University if they meet the requirements.

2   Requirements for application:


(1)    Juniors majoring in Economics or Administration (including CGA, accounting, finance, financial management, business administration, international trade, marketing, banking, e-commerce, economics) of Dongwu Business School or the Wenzheng Applied Technical School.
(2)   Students need to have completed the general education courses and major basic courses at Soochow University.
(3)    Students must pass all the program required courses (students of Wenzheng College and Applied Technical School should get an average grade of at least 80 while other students 70).
(4)    Requirements for English level: IELTS: 6.5, TOEFL: 79 (Online Test) or 213 (Computer Test), 550 (Written Test). Students who reach the level above do not need to attend the pre-sessional English course, while those who do not must attend the pre-sessional English course of EAP.

3 Costs:


(1)   The annual cost in Canada (including tuition, teaching materials, medical insurance, school dormitories, meals and etc.) is about 180,000-200,000 CNY (also depending on the exchange rate), while the round-trip airfare, Canadian visa fees, personal travel expenses, and other kinds of personal expenses are not included.
(2)   Students participating in the project please pay the costs according to the "Soochow University Interim Charging Regulations on Studying Abroad".

The project starts between October and December each year. Students go abroad in July or August the following year.
