The "2013 China Cross-Strait Symposium on Economic Transition and Management Innovation" Was Held at Our University





On the morning of October 14th, the "2013 China Cross-Strait Symposium on Economic Transition and Management Innovation" was held at the academic hall in the Finance & Economics Complex of Dongwu Business School, Soochow University. The Symposium was co-organized by the business school of our university and that of Soochow University in Taiwan, and was supported by Soochow Securities Co., Ltd. A number of famous scholars attended the symposium, including Wang Zhuojun, the Secretary of CPC Committee in Soochow University, Professor Pan Wei-Ta, the President of Soochow University in Taiwan, Yao Siyuan, the chief of the Office of International and Cross-Strait Academic Exchanges, Qiu Yong-He, the chief of  R & D Office, Zhan Qianlong the Dean of the Business School, Ren Shaohua, member of CPC Committee  in Soochow Securities Co., Ltd., and President of Soochow Asset Management Co., Ltd., Xu Weixuan, a researcher of the Institute of Policy and Management, CAS, Hu Bin, the Assistant Director of the Institute of Finance and Banking, CASS, Professor Lu Zhengfei, the Assistant Dean of the Guanghua School of Management, Peking University, Fan Conglai, the Executive Assistant Dean of the School of Business, Nanjing University, and member of Chang Jiang Scholars Program, Professor Chen Jiyong from the Economics and Management School of Wuhan University, Professor He Zhen, the Assistant Dean of the College of Management and Economics, Tianjin University, Professor Li Qiyun from the School of Economics, Shandong University, Li Haijian, the Deputy Editor of the "China Industrial Economics" magazine, and Xiaoxue, the Chief Editor of the "Friends of Accounting" magazine. Besides, the audience also included many other experts and professors from the business school of Soochow University in Taiwan, representatives from the Research Institute of Soochow Securities Co., Ltd., and some teachers and postgraduate students from the business school of our university. The opening ceremony was hosted by Wang Zebin, the Dean of the Dongwu Business School, Soochow University.

The opening ceremony ended with a photo shoot of the representative members of the symposium.

It came to the phase of keynote address then. Experts from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, Nanjing University, Tianjin University, and Wuhan University provided different insights in the problems of cross-strait economic management, capital markets and etc. Their speeches covered some latest research directions, including the research on the financial support of new urbanization, the board construction and performance evaluation of central enterprises, the shortage of assets and the restructuring of China's finance, and management innovation. After the keynote address, participants joined the group discussions, further exchanging their research results and experience.

It is reported that the symposium promoted the academic exchanges between the scholars from the mainland and Taiwan, strengthening the cooperation between Soochow University in Taiwan and our university and benefiting the cross-strait economic development.
