Second Symposium on International Synchrotron Radiation (SR) Technology held at Soochow

From May 6th to 8th, the Second Symposium on International Synchrotron Radiation (SR) Technology was held by Soochow University-University of Western Ontario Joint Research Centre of Synchrotron Radiation at Institute of Functional Nano and Soft Materials (FUSOM), Soochow University. Mr. Pu Men, director in charge of physics science at National Natural Science Foundation of China attended the symposium and delivered remarks. More than 40 Chinese and international researchers in SR science came to the symposium, including experts from some world-famous light source research centers in Canada, United States as well as several research institutes in China.

Mr. Li Shutang, Academician of Chinese Academy of Science and Dean of FUNSOM Institute hosted the symposium and Professor Tsun-Kong Sham, Academician of Canadian Royal Academy of Science and Director of SR Research Center declared the opening of the symposium. Presentations at the symposium covered largely eight SR research areas, including the application of SR in nano technology, biology, battery, functional materials, and energy storage. Scholars attending the symposium had fruitful discussions, which foresee a prospective future of SR research.
