"China Communication Forum 2016" Held at Soochow University




On December 3, more than 160 experts and scholars from more than 80 higher education institutions at home and abroad met at Soochow University to participate in the "China Communication Forum 2016", This forum, which was presented by Phoenix Communication College of Soochow University, was the first time the University held an annual meeting of societies in journalism and communication on a national scale.

As organized by the Special Committee of Communication Studies of the Chinese Association for History of Journalism & Communication (CAHJC), the "China Communication Forum" is an annual event of journalism and communication in China. Focusing on "new media, new culture, and transformation of communication studies", this Forum selected more than 160 papers from more than 300 ones, which were elaborated and discussed at sub-forums by scholars from many higher education institutions, including Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Communication University of China, Zhejiang University, Wuhan University, Shanghai University, Xiamen University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Chongqing University, Soochow University, National Chengchi University, Shih Hsin University, Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, University of Macau, Macau University of Science and Technology, and New York Institute of Technology.

The office of the Special Committee of Communication Studies of CAHJC is due for a change this year. Following discussions by the council, Professor Xiong Chengyu (a doctoral advisor from Tsinghua School of Journalism and Communication) is elected as the new chairman of the Special Committee of Communication Studies of CAHJC, while Professor Chen Long from the University is elected the vice chairman.
