The Soochow University campus has a monitoring system that uses H3C video surveillance systems based on the IMOS (IP Multimedia Operation System) platform. This surveillance system is fully-operational and monitored by our staff. This system provides real-time monitoring, video capture, video playback, and tracking. Our control room has at least one member of our staff on duty for 24 hours. The school currently has more than 700 cameras distributed at our school gates, campus roads, student dormitories, canteens and other important areas. At each of the gates we use a 130 pixel high-definition camera. At the main roads we have installed globe cameras, in the student dormitory entrances and stairs, we have installed standard cameras, and the canteen/cafeteria areas are equipped with globe cameras. We have covered all major areas for 24-hour surveillance, and we keep the surveillance for one month. If necessary, local law enforcement is also available to assist.
